• What is the cost per child for a birthday party? The cost is $32.00 per child for a cooking party and $30.00 for each additional child. The cost is $30.00 per child for a baking party. For parties of 15 or more children you will receive one child free.
• Do I pay for the birthday child? Yes, there is a charge for the birthday child.
• What if I don’t want all the things included in the party package, can you lower the price? No, the party package is an all inclusive package, but you can choose to do a cooking class instead which is a basic cooking class without all the extras. • Is there a travel fee to my location? We use Mapquest.com to assess the time it takes to get to your location from our home office at 413 Creekview Drive, Harleysville, PA. If your location is 35 minutes or more there is a $35.00 travel fee to your location. If your location is over 60 minutes from there is a $50.00 travel fee to your location.
• What is the policy if I need to cancel my party due to my child’s illness or because of bad weather? In the event of a weather or illness related cancellation, deposits can be transferred to a mutually agreed upon alternate date.
• The number of guests I provide at the time of the booking of the party is that the number of people I need to pay for? No, you only pay for the number of guests you guarantee one week prior to the party. The number you provide at booking is to assist with the staffing of the party, purchasing of supplies, and to provide you with the correct amount of invitations for the party.
• How many Chefs’ will be working my party? One chef is guaranteed for parties of 10 – 15 children. Often we will send 2 chef’s at no additional charge if we see necessary or have a chef in training, but it is not guaranteed. For parties of 16 children or more an additional Chef will be provided to assist at the party at no additional charge. If you would like to request an additional chef at your party that has less than 16 children a $50.00 fee will be charged for the additional chef.
For our classes one chef is provided no matter the size of the class. It is the class host responsibility to assist the children with the cooking/crafting process of the class. If the class host requests an additional chef the cost will be $35.00.
• There is a child who will be invited to the party that has a food allergy, special dietary needs or intolerance to certain foods can you accommodate these guests? Yes, we do our best to accommodate all allergies and food intolerances. We offer peanut free, egg free, dairy free, kosher style, and gluten free products. We are not a peanut free facility, but we do not bring peanuts to any of our parties. We are not have a kosher facility. Our staff is trained to be aware of allergies and to be aware of cross contamination. We always ask to speak with the child’s guardian who has the allergy and discuss the child’s allergy so they feel safe and comfortable having their child attend the party. Also, we are OK with guests bringing their own ingredients if they choose.
• Do all of the children get aprons at the party? Yes, all the children who attend a party or class get a disposable cloth-like apron that they can keep. The birthday child at a party will receive a cloth apron with their name embroidered on it in their favorite color. We will also bring fabric markers for their friends to sign their apron if they choose too as a keepsake of the party.
• Do you do parties for boys? Yes, of course we do parties for boys. Boys enjoy the party just as much as girls. We also do mix parties of boys and girls.
• You say that the party is for children 4 and up, can a younger child attend the party? Yes, but we ask that they have an adult who can assist them.
• Do you have a location where we can hold our party or class? No, we are traveling chefs and we facilitate our parties or classes at your home, school, or venue of choice. If you are looking to hold the party at a location outside of your home we suggest looking into renting a hall or room at your local firehouse, YMCA, senior center, church, synagogue, community center, VFW hall, or club house facility.
• Do I need a large kitchen or house to host this type of party? No, we work in all size kitchens and homes. We just need enough space for the children to all sit around a table and eat at one point.
• Do I need a double oven to host this type of party? A normal oven with two oven racks can accommodate up to approximately 14 children. If the oven has three racks it can accommodate about 21 children. Oven space is very important so please keep that in mind when considering the number of guests you will be inviting to the party.
• Can I choose two different entrees and let the kids choose what they want to make at the party? No, we can only offer one entrée, one dessert, and one craft per party.
• Should I provide a cake for the party? We suggest not getting a cake unless you have other guests who will be eating it. All of our desserts are rather large and we use the dessert that you have chosen to sing Happy Birthday.
• Do you mail the invitations for me? No, we will print and mail the invitations to you. All you have to do is address them and put a stamp on them and they are ready to be mailed.
• Are party favors included in the party package? Yes, every child gets a measuring cup set and a gift bag to take home all their items from the party.
•Can I add my own items to the goodie bag? Yes, of course you can.
• Do I have to purchase the A la Carte items from you or can I provide them myself? Yes, of course you can we just offer them as a convenience to you.
• Do you have tables and chairs if I need them for the party? Yes, we do have some tables and chairs to borrow, but cannot guarantee them to be available for every party. We will do our best to accommodate your requests. Unfortunately, we can not provide tables for classes since we leave and will need to take them with us prior to the kids finishing their food.
• Will my house be a mess when you leave? No, we pride ourselves in making sure your house is put back the way we found it or even better. We will wipe down the counters, sink, tables and chairs. We will sweep and/or vacuum the floor where the party was held.
• Is it customary or expected to tip the Chefs’? Tipping the Chefs’ is not expected, but is appreciated. If you feel the Chefs’ have done a good job and would like to thank them that is fine, but not necessary.
